What You’ll Need to make Your Polymer Clay Rose
- Polymer Clay
- Clay Tools
- Tin Foil / Cookie Sheet to bake
Step 1
Take your red polymer clay and cut into two rectangles.
Step 2
Cut five squares from each block of red polymer clay until you have ten blocks of clay.
Step 3
Roll the polymer clay into ten balls.
Step 4
Press down to flatten each rolled ball with your thumb to create the petals of the rose. (Doesn’t need to be perfect circles)
Step 5
Start to line up your flattened petals. You’re going to overlap each petal by placing each one-half way on top of the previous one.
Step 6
Take the last peddle you have added and roll the end of the petals into a cylinder.
Step 7
Continuously roll up all of your petals
Step 8
Pick which side you would like for your rose, and close the other side by pinching the bottom to close the rose.
Step 9
Now start to work on the leaves. Take your rectangle of green polymer and cut it in half.
Step 10
Roll both into balls.
Step 11
Pinch one side of the ball to make into a teardrop shape.
Step 12
Press down on your teardrop shape with your palm to create a leaf shape.
Step 13
Take your clay tool and make the veins of the leaves start by making a straight line from the curved side of the leave towards the pointy side.
Step 14
Then make upwards facing dashes on each side of the line in the middle to complete the veins of the leaves.
Step 15
Connect the leaves together by the rounded side and then place the rose on top and make sure it’s securely connected to the leaves.
Step 16
Use a cookie tray or tin foil to bake your polymer clay. Set your over to 375 degrees and bake for five minutes.
Step 17
Take your rose out of the oven and wait to cool and then you have your polymer clay rose!
