This DIY Tissue Paper Flower is an easy and super affordable project! You and each one of your kids can create one so at the end, you’ll have a nice little bouquet.
What You’ll Need to Make Your Own DIY Tissue Paper Flower
- 2 sheets of tissue paper
- green pipe cleaner
- scissors
Step 1: Fold & Cut Tissue Paper into Smaller Sheets (3x)
FYI: I’m using 15” x 20” tissue paper
Take a sheet of tissue paper and fold it in half – hamburger style.
Cut the fold.
Make sure the sheets are still on top of each other because they’ll be going through two more folds.
With that said, fold the sheets again hamburger style and cut the fold.
Then, fold the sheets again one last time and cut the fold.
Repeat this process with the second sheet of tissue paper.
Step 2: Fold Tissue Paper Sheets Accordion Style
Make sure all your sheets of tissue paper are aligned and stacked with each other.
Fold all the sheets together, long-ways, flipping it with each fold so that it forms an accordion pattern.
Step 3: Add Stem
Take your green pipe cleaner and wrap the top around your folded sheets of paper.
Secure it by wrapping the tail end of the top around the “stem”.
NOTE: Make sure the “stem is perpendicular to the folds.
Step 4: Cut Shape of Petals
Round out the ends of the tissue paper with your scissors.
Step 5: Separate Petals
Fan out the folds of your tissue paper.
Layer by layer, separate the sheets of tissue paper and gently pull them upwards.
Who knew something so simple and flimsy could create a beautiful piece of art. Spritz your tissue paper flowers to make it more realistic!
